Moths

As seasons change, moths can become a real problem for your favourite and most delicate fabrics such as cashmere, silk and wool. Our clothing care range from The Clothes Doctor has been tried and tested by Sally & Rachel in their homes and will help protect your clothes and wardrobe, this is what they use...

Spring Clean

Give your wardrobe a spring clean no matter what time of year! If you notice any signs of moth activity such as holes in your clothes or small cocoons, you need to act quickly. Use a gentle liquid detergent for cashmere and wool to wash any affected items, this will help eliminate any moth eggs or larvae lurking within. It is a good idea to wash all items that have been stored in the same drawer to stop any future damage to other items.

Protect with Scented Bags

Once washed , use the Clothes Doctor ‘Protect Me’ scented bags in your drawers and wardrobes, they are filled with moth-repellent goodies to deter moths. They also leave a lovely fragrance.

Spritz with Knitwear Mist

Before putting your items away, give your clothing an extra layer of defence with a spritz of knitwear mist. A gorgeous eco-friendly spray that uses the natural power of cedar to repel moths while adding a beautiful subtle fragrance to your garments.

Seasonal Storage

When it's time to pack away your cashmeres and silks, go for garment bags or airtight containers. This will keep your clothes safe and sound.
